So we may truly live.

He died for us so that we may truly live.
He is risen!
And there is nothing like being alive in Christ. He saves.
He saves me from myself.
I can always turn to him and he calms my heart.
He gives me newfound joy in days that would otherwise be joyless from my perspective.
He is always there with open arms, even when I turn away.
He loves me so much.
This Easter, remember what Christ has done for you.
He wants you to really live. And you do when you are alive in him!

I find the above poem to be very beautiful.
As far as I have been informed, e.e cummings was not a Christian.
But I can still apply the poem to what I believe.

This morning, my mom made me DUTCH PANCAKES. They were delicious. We sprinkled on powered sugar and squeezed lemon juice ontop of them.

I work all day today, but that is in fact a blessing and I shouldn’t complain about it.

The Orange

At lunchtime I bought a huge orange —
The size of it made us all laugh.
I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave—
They got quarters and I had a half.

And that orange, it made me so happy,
As ordinary things often do
Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park.
This peace and contentment. It’s new.

The rest of the day was quite easy.
I did all the jobs on my list
And enjoyed them and had some time over.
I love you. I’m glad I exist.

First SOCC Sundays post! In these posts, I will post a picture that is SOCC - Straight Out of The Camera. completely unedited.

This is my beautiful friend Amber! It’s her birthday today. I took this picture with her awesome 5D camera and f 1.8 lens. And yes, this is Amber Fischer from Amber Fischer Photography.

Today was a really blessed day. Had a photoshoot early with Kim and her ADORABLE son Maxy, went to church, worked, then went to youth group and now I’m home.

This talented, talented friend

March 20th was just a regular day, but I got an e-mail from Jordan that made it brighter:

My junior and senior year of high school, Jordan and I were on the dance team together. There are some things that you need to know about this girl:

A.) She is SUPER fun. (Me and my friend Olive, seniors, practically BEGGED Jordan, a sophomore, to share a room with us when we stayed in a hotel for a dance competition because we knew just how fun she is… of course, it’s embarassing since we were older… she should have been begging us, right??)

b.) She is SO flippin’ talented. (Try this out for size: Actress, Model, Poet… need I go further?)

c.) She is just a great friend overall - a good listener and fun to talk to

So, when I saw that she wanted me to take her pictures, I jumped at the occasion. Are you free this week? I asked. Because I sure was, it being Spring Break and all. Lucky for me, it was her Spring Break too, and just days later, we did the shoot.

When I was first starting to do photoshoots, I did one for Jordan. Take a look here about how much my photography has changed since 2009:

For this shoot, we first went to Fit For Life, because Jordan wanted to do some dance pictures. She is an incredibly talented dancer, by the way and……. exciting for me…… THE POMA TERRA DANCE TEAM PLACED 2ND IN STATE THIS YEAR! As a former member, I am incredibly proud.

Next year, Jordan will be spreading her wings and joining a STUDIO. So awesome.The shoot with Jordan was a blast. It was fun to reconnect and she was a natural in front of the camera.

After the shoot, Jordan and I got coffee at one of my favorite coffee shops -Jolt’s and Juice (downtown) in Ontario, OR. If you have never been there, you may be among 3% of the entire Malheur County population. So, in case you ARE part of that made up statistic, I suggest you go as soon as you can.
